Cookie Policy

Last updated: 9 October 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Linkup uses cookies and similar technologies on our website and in the Linkup app, and the choices you have. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your personal information, and our Terms of Use.

1. Who we are

1.1 Linkup is operated by Linkup Social Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 13498608), whose registered office is at International House, 61 Mosley Street, Manchester, M2 3HZ, United Kingdom (“Linkup”, “we”, “us” or “our”).

1.2 This policy covers:

  • our website at www.linkupapp.io (the “Website”), which is a marketing website; and

  • the Linkup mobile app (the “App”). The App does not use browser cookies, but it uses similar technologies, which are explained in Section 4.

1.3 In short: we use strictly necessary technologies to make the Website and App work and keep them secure. We use analytics and advertising technologies only with your consent where the law requires it, and you can change your mind at any time. We do not sell information collected through cookies.

2. What cookies and similar technologies are

  • Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your browser or device. First-party cookies are set by the website you are visiting; third-party cookies are set by another company whose service is used on that website.

  • Session cookies are deleted when you close your browser. Persistent cookies stay on your device until they expire or you delete them.

  • Pixels and tags (also called web beacons) are small pieces of code on a web page or in an email that tell a provider when the page has been viewed or an email opened.

  • Local storage lets a website or app save information on your device, such as your settings.

  • Software development kits (SDKs) are pieces of code from other companies built into an app to provide a feature, such as crash reporting, analytics or push notifications.

  • Device and advertising identifiers are unique codes linked to your device or app installation. Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS, Advertising ID on Android) can be used to measure advertising, and you can reset or limit it (see Section 5).

In this policy, we use “cookies” to cover all of these technologies.

Categories we use

  • Strictly necessary: Makes the Website and App work, keeps them secure, keeps you signed in and remembers your cookie choices. Consent needed: No, these are always on.

  • Analytics and performance: Helps us understand how the Website and App are used and find and fix errors. Consent needed: Yes on the Website in the UK and EU; see Section 4 for the App.

  • Advertising and attribution: Measures how people find Linkup and how well our own ads work. Consent needed: Yes.

We do not show third-party ads in the App, and we do not use cookies to build advertising profiles to sell to others.

3. Cookies on our Website

Our Website is a marketing site built and hosted on Framer. We keep cookies on it to a minimum.

  • Cookie consent preference: Remembers whether you accepted or rejected optional cookies. Provider: Linkup (first-party). Category: Strictly necessary. Lasts: Up to 12 months.

  • Hosting and security: Delivers the Website securely, protects it from attacks and balances traffic. Provider: Framer (our website host). Category: Strictly necessary. Lasts: Session.

We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies on the Website. If we add them (for example, website analytics or advertising pixels from Google, Meta or TikTok), we will update this table and, in the UK and EU, ask for your consent before they are set.

Links to other sites. The Website links to our profiles on Instagram, TikTok and X, and to the Apple App Store and Google Play. If you follow those links, those companies may set their own cookies under their own policies.

4. Technologies in the Linkup App

The App does not use browser cookies. It uses SDKs, device and app identifiers and local storage on your device for the purposes below. More detail on each provider is in Section 5.2 of our Privacy Policy.

  • Local storage on your device (Linkup) (Strictly necessary): Keeps you signed in, remembers your settings and stores temporary data so the App runs smoothly

  • Apple and Google (Strictly necessary): Sign-in, app distribution and Linkup Plus purchases

  • Ryft (Strictly necessary): Securely processing payments for Paid Linkups and detecting fraud

  • Stream (Strictly necessary): Delivering one-to-one and group chat messages

  • RevenueCat (Strictly necessary): Checking your Linkup Plus subscription status

  • Superwall (Strictly necessary): Showing Linkup Plus offers and recording how you respond to them

  • OneSignal (Strictly necessary): Sending push notifications (only if you allow notifications)

  • Google Maps and Google Places (Strictly necessary): Showing maps and finding places

  • GIPHY (Strictly necessary): Searching for and showing GIFs in chats

  • Sentry (Strictly necessary): Crash and error reporting so we can keep the App working

  • Mixpanel (Analytics): Understanding how the App is used so we can improve it

  • Airbridge (Advertising and attribution): Measuring which ads and links lead people to install Linkup (only with your consent)

  • AppStack (Advertising and attribution): Measuring and optimising our ad campaigns (only with your consent)

  • Insert Affiliate (Advertising and attribution): Tracking referrals from creators and affiliates

Advertising identifiers. On iOS, the App only accesses your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) or links your activity with other companies’ data if you allow it through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. If you do, Airbridge and AppStack share app install, trial and subscription events, with device and campaign identifiers, with advertising platforms such as Meta, Google, TikTok and Apple Ads, so we can measure and improve our own ads. Saying no does not limit any features of the App.

5. Your choices

5.1 On the Website

  • Cookie banner. If we use any optional cookies, we will ask for your choice when you first visit. In the UK and EU, optional cookies stay off unless you accept them. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link on the Website.

  • Browser settings. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the Website from working.

  • Global Privacy Control. Where the law requires it, we treat a Global Privacy Control signal from your browser as a request to reject optional cookies and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information.

  • Do Not Track. The Website does not respond to browser “Do Not Track” signals, because there is no agreed standard for them.

5.2 In the App

  • Tracking on iOS. You can allow or refuse tracking when the App asks, and change this later in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

  • Advertising ID on Android. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID in Settings > Google > Ads (or Settings > Privacy > Ads on some devices).

  • Push notifications. You can turn notifications on or off in your device settings.

  • Analytics and marketing. To ask us to stop using your information for analytics or to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, email support@linkupapp.io.

5.3 Industry opt-outs

You can also opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance (US), Your Online Choices (UK and EU) and Google Ad Settings. These choices apply only to the browser or device you use them on.

6. Changes and contact

6.1 We may update this Cookie Policy, for example if we add or remove a provider. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. If we add new optional cookies, we will ask for your consent before using them where the law requires it.
